Last Classes of 2023: Saturday 16th December

First classes of 2024: Wednesday 3rd January

Xmas Classes

Our Xmas classes will be on Saturday 16th December 10:30 & 11:30, everyone is welcome to attend, even if your regular sessions don't fall on a Saturday, and it'll be great to see as many people there as possible. W'e'll be taking photos during the classes and everyone is encouraged to wear their best Xmas outfits! There will be plenty of fun and games during the classes, as well as some surpises and we'll have gifts for everyone who attends a class that day!

FINAL WARNING: Winter Uniform

As a final reminder please familiarise yourself with the winter uniform options below, we will be taking a zero tolerance approach to students wearing non-uniform tops and incorrect footwear going forwards. Any student not wearing the correct uniform or footwear will be asked to remove them or leave the class.

Family/Friends Trial Classes

Please can we ask that if you are bringing a friend or family member down for a trial class you ensure they have booked a trial class spot on the Berkshire Martial Arts website. This is to make sure we are aware of everyone coming down, have their full details and that we aren't over subscribed for trial sessions in a particular class.

Membership Change Reminders

Just a reminder that our membership prices changed a few months ago and in January we will be contacting everyone currently on an unlimited classes membership, to check if they wish to remain on an unlimited classes membership (for £10 extra per month) or switch to a two class per week membership at the same price they are on currently.

Further reminder for anyone on a 6 monthly membership that free gradings will no longer be offered as part of these memberships. All grading fees must be paid in full from January onwards.

10 Year Anniversary

2024 marks 10 years since we opened our doors! We have plenty planned for next year to celebrate this amazing anniversary, including:

  • A special commemorative gift for all students

  • Limited edition 10th anniversary uniform

  • Keep you diary free for special classes on our anniversary weekend of Saturday 2nd March 2024

  • More details to come!

Winter Uniform Options

As the weather gets colder we thought we'd issue some reminders on what options are available to help keep you warm whilst training.

Sweatshirts

If you need to wear an extra layer when training in the winter then the only option currently available are the official Berkshire Martial Arts sweatshirts. No other hoodies, sweatshirts, jackets etc can be worn. BMA sweatshirts can be purchased at https://berkshire-martial-arts.myshopify.com/collections/sweatshirts

Footwear

Don't fancy going barefoot on the cold floor? Any shoes worn in class MUST be martial arts specific as they have thinner, more flexible soles and specific "pivot points" on the soles to allow for proper kicking and movement, regular trainers should not be worn in class.

Footwear does not have to be purchased through the club but if buying your own we recommend checking with us first to make sure it's suitable before purchasing.

The club store offers some standard martial arts style trainers, and for a more affordable option, we have also just introduced some Blitz Superflex Sports shoes. Check out the different footwear options at https://berkshire-martial-arts.myshopify.com/collections/shoes

Women's Self Defence Class

The next women's self defence classes are:

- Due to a blackbelt grading taking place there will be no women's self defence class in December.

- 9am, Sunday 28th January, Brakenhale School. Currently 8 places remaining. Click here to book!

These classes are open to all women regardless of whether or not they are a Berkshire Martial Arts student.

What's on?

If you have any upcoming events or activities you'd like to make Berkshire Martial Arts students aware of please email the details over to jason@berkshiremartialarts.co.uk and we will add it to the next newsletter.

The day will run to the approximate schedule below:
